Maria Elena Aitken – Associate

Maria Elena Aitken is a marketing consultant specializing in corporate and institutional marketing and communications programs for small, medium, and large institutions.  With nearly 20 years of experience in graphic design, art direction, and general marketing consulting, Maria Elena’s strength is execution in brand management, marketing collateral production, and project management.  She won numerous educational services publication design awards at the U.S. national level.

 

Her background includes:

  • More than ten years leading Sabia Communications, a successful boutique marketing communications firm based in Coconut Grove focused in supporting the marketing functions of colleges, universities, healthcare institutions and not-for-profit organizations. She leads Sabia and collaborates with strategic partners with a keen business sense combined with strong creative skills and detail-oriented management ability. She is a thinker, who enjoys challenging assignments that allow her to comprehensively analyze her client’s needs, and provide customized solutions.
  • In charge of Grupo Telefónica’s B2B Transportation Portal (Katalyx) marketing and communications function, where she was responsible for multinational marketing planning, marketing research, communications project management, and development of web content, marketing and communications programs for the U.S., Latin America, Spain, and Portugal.
  • Four-year member of the award-winning Publications department of the University of Miami as a Senior Designer/Project Manager.
  • Assistant Art Director for LatinFinance Magazine, and Art Director of LatinFinance’s Mexican edition for more than four years.
